Broadcasting Club Donation 2013

Members of the Lake Land College Broadcasting Club donated about 1100 pounds of food to local charities for the upcoming holiday season. Members of the club are pictured here. The Broadcasting Club at Lake Land College recently collected 1100 pounds of food and donated it to the Mattoon Community Food Bank.

According to Greg Powers, broadcasting instructor, the canned food drive is sponsored by the Broadcasting Club each year and every year, the campus community comes together to work for a good cause.

“There are a lot of families in the area who are having difficulty putting food on the table,” said Powers. “So this is the club’s way of helping others during the holiday season.”

The food drive is a month-long event held each November.
