This year, Lake Land College awarded three employees the Shine Award at its annual Holiday Luncheon. The Shine Award is designed to recognize college employees or teams who display the college’s values – communication, caring, innovation, excellence and teamship.
“We have an exceptional group of employees and I’m honored to be recognizing those folks who have made a difference in the lives of their coworkers and students here at Lake Land College,” said Josh Bullock, president.
This year’s recipients were: Adra Baldwin of Charleston, training coordinator and adjunct Technology Division instructor; Art Turner of Trilla, lead custodian; and Dave Cox of Mattoon, director of the alumni and foundation.
To receive a Shine Award, employees must be nominated by a co-worker who must describe why the employee is deserving of the Shine Award. The Shine Selection Committee then reviews the applications and selects the winners to be honored.
Other employees nominated for the award include: Kalei Vaughn, correction center office assistant; John Gentry, power plant mechanics coordinator and instructor; Diana Glosser, director of the Perkins Program; Erica Hotsinpiller, math instructor; Kimberly Wellbaum, administrative assistant to the Physical Plant; Cindy Lanman, academic counselor; Justin Thomas, adjunct instructor for the Social Science and Education Division; and Tisha Goad, nursing instructor.
