The Communications and Creative Services (CCS) Department at Lake Land College was recently honored by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations as winners of the District 3 Medallion Awards.
Media Specialist Jennifer Forneris received first place in news writing for a story featuring veteran supports and services at the college. Likewise, Forneris and Jenny Osborn, creative specialist, brought home second place in the academic schedule category for the college’s publication, Full Circle, which is distributed to district citizens three times a year. Finally, Megan Nelson, administrative assistant to the director of Communications and Creative Services, received second place for her work creating a branding identity and marketing campaign for the college’s Community and Professional Programs.
“This is a great recognition for the CCS team and members of the Lake Land community,” said Kelly Allee, director of CCS. “Our team is an innovative and creative group of professionals. I’m proud that their hard work has been recognized.”
The District 3 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations competition includes entries from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and the province of Ontario.
The Communications and Creative Services Department is a six-member team that specializes in marketing, public relations, professional writing, graphic design, videography and community affairs. In addition to Forneris, Osborn, Nelson and Allee, the team is complete with Graphic Designer Paula Rosine and Videographer David Gaslain. During the past 15 years, the CCS team has accumulated 39 national, regional and state awards for its work.
