During the three-week break between spring and summer terms, Lake Land College will again offer select Intersession courses. Intersession runs from May 20 to June 5 and students should register for classes by May 19.
“Intersession is a great way for students to pick up some quick credits that can transfer to other schools or help them complete their program here at Lake Land,” said Jim Hull, vice president for academic services.
Classes that will be offered during Intersession include: Health Assessment, Intro to Film Appreciation, Understanding Art, Intro to Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning, Biotechnology in Society, Basic Carpentry, Principles of Macro Economics, Photovoltaic Systems, Composition, Responding to Emergencies, History/Culture of the Third World, Statistics, Finite Mathematics, Astronomy, American National Government, Intro to Psychology and Intro to Sociology.
Students who enroll in Intersession will be immersed in the course topic and can expect to spend a good amount of time studying and doing homework during the three-week course. Students who enroll in Intersession courses must pay for the class as financial aid (grants and scholarships) will not be available during Intersession.
For Intersession and other courses that are three to seven weeks in length, students must register prior to the first course meeting. Students who attend the first meeting of the class and decide not to continue in the class can drop on that first day and not be required to pay for the class. Students who drop after the first day will be responsible for full payment.
